A teenager had her 18th birthday ruined when she arrived at a hotel in Tenerife to find the pool was a building site.
Liam and Angela McKenna, from Uddingston in Glasgow, booked their daughter Chloe a seven-day stay at the La Nina Be Live Experience in Costa Adeje as a special present.
Three days before they were due to fly out last month, Jet2holidays told them the hotel pool would be out of action for just one day.
But they say that on arrival, a Jet2 rep told them it was not clear how long the work would take, but that it may not be finished by the end of the week.

But their holiday was ruined by building works on the pool, pictured. The family were forced to leave due to loud works as Mrs McKenna was suffering from an ear infection

The family had planned to stay at the hotel if the works lasted just one day, but decided to move as Mrs McKenna was struggling to cope with the disruption due to an ear infection.
They were eventually moved to another hotel – GF Fanabe – two days later, but claim the hotel was ‘nowhere near’ their original hotel.
Mr McKenna also claims that he paid for a taxi for the family’s travel that was not reimbursed by Jet2.
He said: ‘This was booked this as part of celebration of my daughter’s special birthday, we had been before and that was main reason for returning because such a great time.
‘This time we spent the start of our holiday arguing and feeling frustrated and let down by Jet2 and the hotel who have never apologised.
Mr McKenna said: ‘[The new hotel] was nice, but not what we had paid or planned for. It was a disappointing holiday’
‘We have booked holidays with Jet2 for over ten years and never complained about anything but this time they let us down and if we were told the truth at the beginning we could have booked elsewhere and avoided a wasted holiday that cost £2,300.’
In total Mr and Mrs McKenna, both 50, were offered just £195 in compensation. They were also given £150 off any new bookings.
The family had chosen the hotel because they had been to the hotel the year before for Mr McKenna’s 50th birthday.
He added: ‘[Chloe] was upset because we had such a good time when we went last time.
