Two suspects in custody after exchange of gunfire with authorities in Jefferson County.

Two people suspected of firing at a vehicle owner, before exchanging gunfire with authorities, are in custody, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident unfolded Thursday evening in the area of South Union Street and West Radcliff Avenue, in the Friendly Hills area, according to a 6:51 p.m. tweet by the sheriff’s office.

The suspect’s vehicle crashed and two people fled on foot before being captured. No injuries were reported.

The sheriff’s office said there are multiple crime scenes along U.S. 285 between South Turkey Creek and C-470 connected to the incident. U.S. 285 is closed northbound from Colorado 8 to C-470.
