University ‘initiation ritual’ filmed going wrong as girl almost knocked out
A university "initiation ritual" has been filmed going wrong after a girl was almost knocked unconscious by a heavy-handed male.
The incident was filmed in a dormitory in the Colegio Mayor Universitario Diego de Covarrubias in Madrid, Spain, and was later shared on Twitter.
In the clip, one boy can be seen facing a girl while they both hold a handful of cream in their hands.
The boy suddenly swings his hand and slaps the girl in the head which sends her fly backwards, almost hitting her head on the window in the process.
Many witnesses gasp at the brutal slap as the boy instantly covers his mouth in apparent shock.
The girl stumbles back to her feet, appearing disorientated.
After seeing the savage slap another boy walks over and supports the girl as she attempts to recover.
According to local media, two unnamed students have been suspended after the video was widely circulated on social media.
The Madrid city council also launched a campaign this week intended to highlight the problems of initiation stunts such as the one in the video.
They've named it "Di No A Las Novatadas" ("Say No To Pranks") and the initiative will also address the dangers of consuming alcohol and drugs, which is commonly linked with university pranks.
After making the rounds online, one person said: "He should be expelled and thrown out of the university residence immediately.
"He is a reckless person."
Another said: "I hope this violent idiot is properly punished."
A third added: "What immature idiots for taking part in this."
The students have since apologised for their actions.
It comes after a lad's Snapchat prank with girlfriend backfired.
