A seven-story car vending machine that allows buyers to collect their vehicles by inserting a huge coin has opened in Indiana.

Online retailer Carvana opened the all-glass tower yesterday in Indianapolis with the motto ‘Because car buying shouldn’t suck’.

The structure can hold 26 vehicles at one time and is the first of its kind in the state.

Buyer insert an oversized novelty coin into a slot to dispense their desired vehicle from the tower

Customers can shop more than 10,000 vehicles on Carvana’s website and quickly schedule to pick it up from a vending machine or have it delivered to their home.

Those who choose the vending experience will meet a Carvana employee at the tower, who’ll give them an oversized novelty coin which they insert into a slot.

Within minutes, the car is released and they can immediately drive away.

Buyers can try out the car for seven days to make sure they want to keep it, before either getting a refund or swapping it for another. 

The online car company was launched six years ago and its car delivery service has been available in Indianapolis since 2016.

It aims to transform the arduous process of visiting a car dealership into a few simple clicks online. 

Indiana joins other states with vending machines including Texas, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, Maryland, Arizona, Ohio and Pennsylvania.   

The Carvana tower is open 9am to 7pm Monday through Saturday.
