There’s been a detour on Thunder Road.

Bruce Springsteen has postponed all of his concerts in September as he gets treatment for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease. “Over here on E Street, we’re heartbroken to have to postpone these shows,” he said on social media. “We’ve been having a blast at our U.S. shows, and we’re looking forward to more great times.

“We’ll be back soon,” he added. See his full statement below.

The message added that “the decision of his medical advisers is that he should postpone the remainder of his September shows.”

The news comes three weeks after The Boss postponed a pair of dates in Philadelphia, citing an unspecified illness. Earlier this year, Springsteen had to miss being honored by New Jersey with a proclamation declaring “Bruce Springsteen Day” because he contracted Covid.

The first affected show is Thursday night’s gig at the JMNA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, NY. Springsteen, 73, and the E Street Band also were set to play Baltimore, Pittsburg (twice), Uncasville (Connecticut), Albany, Columbus and Washington D.C. this month.
