Kanye West, now known as Ye, recently filed a lawsuit against an unknown Instagram user over leaked songs.

According to legal documents obtained by Billboard, the 46-year-old artist filed a lawsuit in California on Wednesday, September 6, against the individual or entities responsible for taking and distributing copies of his music that have ended up on social media

The complaint, which was submitted by attorney Gregory K. Nelson of Weeks Nelson, alleges the individual(s) behind the popular account @DaUnreleasedGod_ has violated copyright laws by leaking various Ye tracks throughout 2023.

The material in question includes a collaboration with DJ Khaled, footage of a Donda listening party, as well as 20-plus songs, such as “We Did It Kid,” “Shy Can’t Look,” “NASDAQ,” and “Mr. Miyagi.”

“Ye has suffered significant financial losses and damages as a direct result of the defendants’ actions,” the suit claims.

The suit does not name the accounts’ owner since West “does not know the true names or capacities” of those who leaked the music. However, the suit claims the complaint will be amended once the “true names and capacities of these defendants… have been ascertained.”
