<\/p>\nAdrenaline junkies got more than they bargained for when their ride malfunctioned and they were left suspended upside down until rescuers could reach them.<\/p>\n
The ride known as The Lumberjack is located at Ontario, Canada\u2019s Wonderland theme park. Designed to look like a swinging axe, the ride flips and spins.<\/p>\n
At around 10.30pm on Saturday (September 22), the ride suddenly malfunctioned and unsuspecting riders were suspended upside down in the air. They were trapped like this for more than 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

Video from parkgoer Jiashira Rivera showed the moment a technical blunder saw the mechanism come to a stop. The riders were seen panicking after they released they were trapped.<\/p>\n
The clip went viral on TikTok, where Rivera explained that it took more than 30 minutes to free them. She said in the caption that she will not be getting on the ride any time soon.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Yahoo Canada, she explained: \u201cIt was terrifying, thank God nobody fell off. They kept telling everyone to clear up the area. Workers came in with safety harnesses, climbed up to the machine and tried resetting it."<\/p>\n
One of the trapped riders was a 14-year-old. He said: "Me and my friends all felt the same effects and I'm pretty sure it's the same for everyone… I had so much blood going to my head."<\/p>\n
He added that he felt as though he could not breathe properly, and noted his eyes began to feel heavy as the blood rushed to his head. He said: \u201cI was thankful that the workers there could get us down but it was just crazy. I wonder how much longer if we were up there [if] we could've died.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wonderland's director of communications Grace Peacock said that maintenance and rescue crews were deployed to fix the issue and safely evacuate the ride, adding that riders experiencing discomfort were assessed by their first aiders.<\/p>\n
No riders required further medical treatment. Peacock told Yahoo Canada: \u201cThe park's maintenance team responded quickly and the ride was brought down by 11:05 pm. Guests were unloaded safely.\u201d<\/p>\n
