A SHOCKING video shows a bear breaking into a family's home and heading straight for their kitchen.

The owner of the home was stunned to see the large bear searching through her refrigerator in Connecticut.

Video captured by the home's Ring surveillance system shows the bear wandering around inside.

It starts by sniffing out the hallway then casually makes its way from the living room to the kitchen.

Homeowner Helena Richardson was shocked to see the wild animal moving lazily through her space.

"You can see him going from room to room, as comfortable as I am in my house," she told local CBS affiliate WFSB.

"My mom made some lasagna, I left it in the freezer and the bear just took it."

In the kitchen, the huge bear can be seen opening the freezer and sniffing around.

It calmly snags its feast and manages to sneak out through a window.

Richardson said her Ring camera alerted her to the fact that the bear found its way inside.
