A police officer embarked on a five-year campaign of sectarian and racist abuse towards colleagues.<\/p>\n
Kyle Cruickshank made the comments while working from Glasgow\u2019s Maryhill police station between 2017 and 2022.<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old called a constable of Asian descent a \u2018curry muncher\u2019 and referred to Catholics as \u2018Fenian b*******\u2019.<\/p>\n
He was known to ask for colleagues\u2019 \u00adsurnames to see if they sounded Catholic and said Catholic potential victims of crime would \u2018get the jail\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He also made misogynistic remarks about female colleagues.<\/p>\n

Cruickshank, who has now left force, abused colleagues over several years<\/p>\n
Cruickshank pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to pursuing a racially aggravated course of conduct towards an officer.<\/p>\n
He further admitted behaving in a \u00adthreatening or abusive manner aggravated by religious prejudice.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Cruickshank \u2013 who has since left Police Scotland after six years \u2013 also pleaded guilty to assaulting a\u00a0female officer.<\/p>\n
Father-of-one Cruickshank made racist comments such as Pakistani people being \u2018dirty\u2019, the court heard.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The officer worked from Maryhill Police station in Glasgow<\/p>\n
He also made the \u2018curry muncher\u2019 remark towards colleague Safdar Sadiq when he took food to work.<\/p>\n
Cruickshank referred to Mr Sadiq and Jewish colleague Barnaby Rose abusively.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Prosecutor Louise James said: \u2018The \u00adcomment was about throwing cash on the floor and seeing who would pick it up.\u2019<\/p>\n
The pair would avoid coming into the police station at certain times to avoid Cruickshank.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ms James added: \u2018Cruickshank also made comments such as \u201cI hate Catholics\u201d and \u201cdirty Fenian b*******\u201d.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n
He also said women \u2018belong in the kitchen\u2019 and called some female officers \u2018wee dirties\u2019.<\/p>\n
Officer Rachel Kerr was sprayed on the face with hand sanitiser by Cruickshank while in the police reporting room. Matters were investigated after she reported him.<\/p>\n
Sentence was deferred on the first offender. Chief Superintendent Catriona Henderson said Cruickshank\u2019s conduct \u2018fell well below the expected high standards of professionalism that the public rightly demands from policing\u2019.<\/p>\n
