A shocking scene unfolded on a bustling street when a bike was hurled at police officers who were trying to restrain a suspect. <\/p>\n

He also grabbed a fruit bowl from outside the store and lobbed it at the same officer. An older man then knocked the bike-thrower to the ground where he was detained as the other officers tried to contain the first man against the wall. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, in another clip, an officer was seen lying on the pavement with his head in his hands. West Midlands Police told BirminghamLive that the area was sealed off for a few hours for an investigation.<\/p>\n
However, the force has since confirmed two men have been arrested and that some officers were "punched and bitten" during the attack. The spokesperson added: "A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault; and a 30-year-old man on suspicion of assault and possession of drugs. <\/p>\n
"They remain in custody for questioning. Three officers were taken to hospital to be treated for injuries which were thankfully not serious."<\/p>\n

West Midlands Ambulance Service was alerted to an assault at the crossroads of Villa Road and Hunters Road in Birmingham at 1pm on October 24, but police called them off before they got there.<\/p>\n
Detective Superintendent Jim Munro, from Birmingham Local Policing Area, said: \u201cOur officers are on the frontline every minute of every day – often putting their own safety at risk \u2014 to help and protect the public in their time of need.
