BEAUTY fans have been left divided over a new 'hack' that promises to remove contact lenses with no faff.<\/p>\n

Those who opt for contact lenses instead of stylish glasses will know that sometimes taking them out can be quite tricky, especially if you have long nails.<\/p>\n

But what if there was a way which didn't involve touching your eyeball with your fingertips? One that took just a second?<\/p>\n

Well, according to TikTok users, there is a hack that's not only effective but also time-saving – and it's all to do with pulling your eyelid.<\/p>\n

The trick has become al, the rage on social media, where hundreds of people have been raving about it – and amongst those was also TikTok user Chiara Sbardellati, from Italy.<\/p>\n

The popular fashion and beauty influencer recently posted herself giving the simple a go, and the video's already racked up close to a whopping 13million views.<\/p>\n

So… how does it work? And what's the deal behind it?<\/p>\n

As the style fanatic demonstrated in her clip, you first start by placing your middle finger by the bottom of the outer corner and pulling the skin in a downwards motion.<\/p>\n

The index finger, meanwhile, grabs the lid and pulls it upwards.<\/p>\n

As the eyeball is now open, you look to the other side – towards the inner corner – blink and voila, the contact lens pops out on its own.<\/p>\n

Stunned by just how easy the removal process was, Chiara wrote in the caption: ''I wish I had known this earlier.''<\/p>\n

However, whilst the hack may have been effective, the reaction on TikTok was mixed and not everyone will be racing to try it out.<\/p>\n

For some, the biggest issue was pulling skin and ending with premature wrinkles.<\/p>\n

One concerned beauty lover pointed out: ''all good until you have crows feet at 30.''<\/p>\n

Someone else agreed, writing: ''I can\u2019t. My aunt would slap my hand for tugging at my eyes saying it creates wrinkles.''<\/p>\n

''The stretching of the eye is stressing me out,'' another chimed in.<\/p>\n

But there were also plenty of those loving the hack, such as this person: ''Guyyyyyys\u2026I can wear nails again!!!!! [sic]''<\/p>\n

''IT WORKED WHAT,'' a TikTok fan couldn't believe their eyes.<\/p>\n

How to take out your contact lenses<\/h2>\n

Although professionals opticians haven't yet commented on the now-viral 'hack', we advise you to stick to tried-and-tested methods by experts at Specsavers.<\/p>\n

Their website shared how to remove them without even touching your eye – and it's so easy.<\/p>\n

  2. Look straight into the mirror, tilt your head down slightly and pull your lower eyelid down.<\/li>\n
  3. Using your finger move the lens down onto the white of your eye and then gently pinch it out.<\/li>\n
  4. Now just repeat on the other eye. Simple.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
