A MAJOR fashion retailer with 400 stores is set to shut another shop permanently in just days.<\/p>\n
New Look\u00a0will be pulling down the shutters on one of its sites next<\/span> week, following a wave of other closures.<\/p>\n

The store is located inside the Maybird shopping park in Stratford-upon-Avon, and will shut for good on Satuday, October 28.<\/p>\n
A New Look spokesperson confirmed the closure to The Sun and said:\u00a0"As part of the normal course of business, New Look occasionally closes stores, while also undertaking relocations and new site openings.<\/p>\n
"While some sites have closed recently, we have opened a number of new stores this year and we remain on the lookout for appropriate new opportunities across the country."<\/p>\n
Shoppers have shared their disappointment at the news on social media.<\/p>\n

One wrote: "Yes I found this out on Saturday absolutely gutted as it is a fantastic New Look store. <\/p>\n
"Don't understand why they would shut it, people travel especially to come to that retail park and that store."<\/p>\n
Another commented: "What a shame. Already so little choice when if comes to clothes shopping in Stratford!"<\/p>\n
A third said: "Gutted to lose New Look; it's one of the few shops in Stratford I actually use.<\/p>\n

And a fifth commented: "That is a shame. <\/p>\n
"I am old, but find the odd piece in New Look, and the staff in Stratford branch are lovely."<\/p>\n
New Look has already closed a number of its stores this year.<\/p>\n
Its shop in Bromsgrove high street,\u00a0Worcestershire, closed its doors for the final time on September 9.<\/p>\n
The chain shut its store in Beverley, east Yorkshire, on September 8.<\/p>\n
New Look also shut its shops in Slough and Windsor on September 5.<\/p>\n
It pulled down the shutters on its branch in the Cornmarket, Lancaster, on September 2.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, its shop in the Crossgates Shopping Centre,\u00a0Leeds, closed to customers at the end of August.<\/p>\n
Its store in the Kings Chase Shopping Centre, Leeds, shut on August 9, while the branch in Fosse Park Shopping Centre, Leicester,\u00a0closed for good on July 25.<\/p>\n
It shut six branches in January and February this year too.<\/p>\n

But it's not all bad news though. <\/p>\n
The Fosse Park Shopping Park, branch in Leicestershire\u00a0pulled down its shutters in the summer to make way for a bigger venue.<\/p>\n
New Look has also opened a store in Grimsby recently and is opening in Leicester next week.<\/p>\n
It also has plans to open more stores in 2023, though it hasn't said how many and where in the UK they'll be.<\/p>\n
The high street has suffered in recent years due to the switch to online shopping, especially during the\u00a0pandemic.<\/p>\n
In the last year the\u00a0cost of living\u00a0has been rising, meaning shoppers are cutting back on most non-essential spending.<\/p>\n
This means that brick and mortar stores have seen less footfall.<\/p>\n
Familiar brands including the likes of\u00a0M&Co\u00a0and Paperchase closed all of their stores earlier this year after falling into administration.<\/p>\n
And several\u00a0bargain chains are closing\u00a0sites too.<\/p>\n
