KAI HAVERTZ has been slammed by former England striker Darren Bent for not adding anything to Arsenal.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The German was signed from Chelsea in a lucrative deal in the summer but has scored just once this season – from the penalty spot against Bournemouth.<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

His starts have been limited but he was given the chance to impress against West Ham in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

But Bent felt Havertz contributed very little as the Gunners were beaten 3-1 at the London Stadium.<\/p>\n

After the game Bent tweeted: "I hate singling out one player but I need someone to explain why \u00a365million was spent on Kai Havertz and what exactly is he bringing to the team? <\/p>\n

"15 games into the season I haven't seen anything substantial."<\/p>\n

Havertz, 24, has faced a lot of criticism since his move across London with many unsure of where he fits into Mikel Arteta's team.<\/p>\n

Chelsea icon Frank Leboeuf tore into the midfielder by suggesting his best position is on the bench for Arsenal, so he does not disturb his team-mates on the pitch.<\/p>\n

Former Arsenal captain William Gallas supports Bent's view that Havertz has done very little since his arrival.<\/p>\n

He said: "I\u2019m not impressed with Kai Havertz so far.<\/p>\n

"He\u2019s done nothing since he joined Arsenal. He may have scored, but that was only because Martin Odegaard let him take a penalty!<\/p>\n
