{"id":224302,"date":"2023-11-15T15:43:58","date_gmt":"2023-11-15T15:43:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/allworldreport.com\/?p=224302"},"modified":"2023-11-15T15:43:58","modified_gmt":"2023-11-15T15:43:58","slug":"corinthians-goalkeeper-makes-no-attempt-to-save-free-kick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allworldreport.com\/sport\/corinthians-goalkeeper-makes-no-attempt-to-save-free-kick\/","title":{"rendered":"Corinthians goalkeeper makes no attempt to save free-kick"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Watch bizarre moment Corinthians goalkeeper makes no attempt to save free-kick &#8211; but he was absolutely RIGHT to let it go in!<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Corinthians goalkeeper did not try to save a second half free-kick<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>His decision to let the ball go straight into his goal turned out to be the right one<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Pochettino acted like he was denied entry to a nightclub &#8211; It&#8217;s All Kicking Off<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Corinthians goalkeeper Cassio produced a remarkable display of quick-thinking during his side&#8217;s draw with Atletico Mineiro in Brazil&#8217;s Serie A last week.<\/p>\n<p>With the game level at 1-1 with 15 minutes to go, Mineiro were awarded a free-kick midway inside the Corinthians half and the ball was clipped in towards goal.<\/p>\n<p>Cassio looked set to gather the ball, but at the last second jumped out of the way to let it go straight into his goal.<\/p>\n<p>It was a truly bizarre moment with a couple of Mineiro players raising their arms to celebrate a goal &#8211; but there was a catch. It was an indirect free-kick and no one else had touched the ball other than the taker.<\/p>\n<p>The goalkeeper had realised this and did not even attempt to make a save as he did not want to risk dropping the ball at the feet of an attacker.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/14\/15\/77785657-12748097-image-a-29_1699974161657.jpg\" height=\"343\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Corinthians goalkeeper Cassio deliberately let a free-kick go straight into his goal<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/14\/15\/77785659-12748097-image-a-30_1699974266438.jpg\" height=\"424\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>It was a moment of genius from Cassio who realised the goal would not count<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/14\/15\/77785905-12748097-image-a-31_1699974469920.jpg\" height=\"357\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Corinthians manager Mano Menzes was seen gesturing that his heart was pounding the ball went into the net<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>By touching the ball, he would have made the game &#8216;live&#8217;
