I heard that the bags are made out of fake leather,&#8217; Ben responded: &#8216;So Louis Vuitton do do real leather.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ben named the luxury fashion house&#8217;s empreinte leather, vernis leather, epi leather and taurillon leather as examples of the real deal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He then explained that the classic damier monogrammed options, like the famous Neverfull (which starts at $2,500) were made out of &#8216;plastic-coated cotton canvas,&#8217; although the luxury bags still had leather trim and handles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While the Neverfull might be the most famous coated canvas bag, there are plenty of pricier options.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Grand Palais will run you $2,910 while the Horizon suitcase, made with &#8216;ultra-light lining&#8217; and cow-hide trim, is $3,400. Also the craftsmanship is quite good,&#8217; one fashionista offered as someone else said the lavish accessories were pricey because they &#8216;last many decades.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>While the most famous monogrammed bags are made of coated canvas, there are plenty of opulent options for people who are hell bent for leather.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The empreinte options are made with imprinted and embossed leather that become more supple over time, with prices ranging from $680 for a coin purse to $3,400 for larger offerings.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The vernis is coated leather that&#8217;s most similar to patent leather. It was first launched by Marc Jacobs in 1998, when he was the artistic director of the fashion house. This luxurious leather comes with a high price tag, as the small\u00a0Cluny BB costs $2,860.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile the taurillon is a durable, scratch resistant, buttery soft leather with no monogramming.
