killed in three-car crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Grieving family pays tribute to &#8216;cherished daughter&#8217;, 23, killed in three-car pile-up &#8211; just days before they learned she had passed her final accountancy exams<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Lucy Leahy was killed last Friday when a car ploughed into her vehicle head-on\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A family has been left devastated after their cherished daughter died in a three-vehicle crash, just days before she received exam results telling her she passed.<\/p>\n<p>Lucy Leahy, 23, died in the collision on the A509 between Bozeat and Wollaston, Northamptonshire, at around 6.30pm on November 24.<\/p>\n<p>The trainee chartered accountant was driving to her home in Irthlingborough where she lived with her partner when her car was hit head-on.<\/p>\n<p>Three days after her death, it was confirmed Lucy had passed her final Chartered Accountancy exam, which she had studied for five years to achieve.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/29\/15\/78376717-12805221-image-a-40_1701272053479.jpg\" height=\"882\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Lucy Leahy, 23, (pictured), received her exam results just days after the horrifc car accident<\/p>\n<p>Her devastated family, including her twin sister and two older sisters, have told of their pain in a touching statement.<\/p>\n<p>Claire Shakespeare, Leah&#8217;s mother, said: &#8216;We are all devastated by this immense loss and kindly request privacy as we deeply mourn Lucy&#8217;s untimely departure and try to cope with the passing of our cherished daughter, sister, and partner.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Lucy was eagerly awaiting news that she had passed her final Chartered Accountancy exams.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;This significant accomplishment was confirmed just three days after she died.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/11\/29\/15\/78377311-12805221-image-a-45_1701272165097.jpg\" height=\"404\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The collision took place on the A509 between Bozeat and Wollaston, Northamptonshire, at around 6.30pm on November 24<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We were enthusiastically anticipating celebrating this achievement, marking the end of Lucy&#8217;s challenging five-year journey to become a Chartered Accountant.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Police said a Ford Ranger pickup was travelling in the opposite direction to Lucy when the vehicle hit a Ford Mondeo going the same way.<\/p>\n<p>The pickup then ploughed into Lucy&#8217;s Citroen leaving her with fatal injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Northamptonshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the fatal crash and anyone with dashcam footage of the moments leading up to the collision.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information can call the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615 or police on 101 quoting incident number incident number 23000727871.<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-12805221\/Grieving-family-pay-tribute-cherished-daughter-23-killed-three-car-pile-way-home-dream-job-three-days-news-came-passed-final-exams.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read Full Article<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Grieving family pays tribute to &#8216;cherished daughter&#8217;, 23, killed in three-car pile-up &#8211;
