Leaving the rotting corpse of one of the creatures outside a victim\u2019s office was one of a series of intimidation tactics deployed by Italian mobsters. They also used severed goats\u2019 heads as calling cards \u2013and a dead puppy.<\/p>\n
The tactics emerged from Italy\u2019s biggest Mafia trial for 30 years. A total of 207 gangsters were last week found guilty of multiple crimes. And the Ndrangheta mob made fictional crime families in the Godfather film series look tame.<\/p>\n

The original 1972 movie showed a victim waking up to find his horse\u2019s severed head dumped in his bed. But the trial showed real gangsters are even worse.<\/p>\n
An entrepreneur who refused to pay protection money found a dead dolphin outside his office. A store boss discovered a dead puppy hanging on his shop door. Others found severed goat heads.<\/p>\n
