But how serious a defeat are the Conservatives facing if they cannot reduce Labour&#8217;s lead?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/10\/22\/78799257-0-image-a-1_1702247477081.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Sir John Curtice said that the Conservatives would be &#8216;lucky&#8217; to win more than 200 seats if they fail to dig into Labour&#8217;s substantial lead\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/10\/22\/78799263-0-image-a-2_1702247479293.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Conservative Party remains well behind Sir Keir Starmer in the polls, with a recent survey giving Labour a 17-point lead<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The party would certainly be lucky to win much more than 200 seats.
