MIKEL ARTETA rushed out of his post-match interview after offering a tongue-in-cheek explanation for his latest yellow card.

The Arsenal boss was booked for the fourth time this season after taking exception to a Kaoru Mitoma foul on Bukayo Saka.

Just a few minutes before half-time during yesterday's clash with Brighton Arteta, 41, performed a frenzied wave as he felt the Japanese winger should be cautioned.

Referee Tim Robinson did eventually flash his yellow card at Mitoma, before also booking Arteta for his latest antics.

This marked the fourth time that the Gunners manager has been cautioned this season.

He has only just returned to the touchline, having been banished to the stands for last week's 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa.

Arteta has repeatedly criticised officials after matches this season, doing so after losses at Newcastle and Villa.

But he was in a calmer mood yesterday following his side's 2-0 win.

Chatting to beIN SPORTS reporter Carrie Brown, Arteta offered a mischievous response when asked if his yellow card was fair.

He denied wildly gesturing at Robinson, joking: "I was waving at [Gabriel] Martinelli."

CASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO WELCOME OFFER

Arteta then bolted out of the interview room, saying: "See you."

Brown responded by laughing, as did plenty of infatuated Gooners online.

One wrote: "Never never change my manager."

While a second gushed: "Love it, Arteta. Keep cooking and let the haters hate."

Others weren't having it, however, with a third fuming: "Absolutely insufferable man."

A fourth pointed out: "So you're not blaming any VAR or red when Arsenal win… I can't stand this guy."

The Gunners went in front via Gabriel Jesus' 53rd minute effort.

Kai Havertz then secured the points by adding a second in the 87th minute.

ARSENAL NEWS LIVE: Stay up to date with all the latest transfer news from the Emirates

</picture>BUK THE TREND
