BRYONY FROST was in a hospital dash just two days after her Cheltenham heartbreak on Il Ridoto.

Sun Racing columnist Frost was pipped in the dying strides after an incredible front-running ride on the Paul Nicholls-trained six-year-old in last Saturday's December Gold Cup.

But barely 48 hours later she was in hospital for a check-up after suffering a fall while schooling a horse.

She is now in a rush against time to be back for the big Christmas racedays at Ascot on Saturday and Kempton on Boxing Day.

Although her agent Iain Turner told the Racing Post that he's positive she will be OK.

He said: "She had a fall when schooling on Monday and she’s taking a couple of days to recover.

"She went into hospital for a check-up and was sent home last night."

Frost was out for six months after suffering a serious back injury following a fall at the Aintree Grand National Festival in April 2022.

She had bone bruising and was told by doctors to take enough time off to fully recover.

Frost had struggled for big-race rides after that – and in the midst of her bullying battle against rival made rider Robbie Dunne.

</picture>MATT CHAPMAN

</picture>FIVER FLUTTER

</picture>TEMPLEGATE TIPS

</picture>BREADWINNER

But she almost bounced back at the scene of her 2019 Ryanair win last weekend.

She looked to have gone way too fast on the 17-2 chance but had actually judged the pace to perfection.

And it was not until in the shadow of the post that Gavin Sheehan just denied her a 19th Graded win as Fugitif stormed up the hill.

Frost was forced to miss three rides at Fakenham as a result of her latest fall.

She is currently booked to ride Red Risk in Saturday's Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot and looks set to partner 2020 champ Frodon in the King George on Boxing Day.

A responsible gambler is someone who:

Most read in Horse Racing
