We've missed seeing Jesy Nelson on our social feeds in recent months, but it seems like the star might be making a return to our screens (and ears) very shortly. Jesy, who took the summer off to focus on travelling, is back teasing a new track in a TikTok video posted to musician Zion Foster's page.
"Jesy needs to stop playing and drop this," Zion captions the clip of the two of them dancing and singing along to a snippet of the song.
While we're definitely interested in the new music, our attention first went to Jesy's hair. The singer has swapped her previous brunette colour for autumnal 'pumpkin spice' money-piece accents that give her a fun new look. Plus, since copper tones are trending this season, the singer is, as usual, bang on trend.
“Pumpkin spice hair colour is an earthy shade of copper, based on undertones of caramel chestnut and cinnamon,” says hairstylist and trend forecaster Tom Smith. “While every copper shade possesses an element of orange, the subtle duskiness of this shade keeps it sophisticated and avoids looking artificial.”
We would definitely agree that the copper tone looks like it was made for Jesy – and it's clear from the TikTok comment section that fans love her new colour almost as much as they love the sound of the new single.
"This song is gonna be her revenge dress. There, I say it," one commenter says, likening Jesy's track to the iconic Princess Diana little black dress that served as 'revenge' after she reportedly found out about King Charles' link to Queen Camilla.
Another writes: "Loving the autumnal look," as a third weighs in: "This type of sound is everything I had in mind for Jesy's solo career….. it sounds excellent. I'm screaming".
Jesy isn't just leaving us guessing with the very short preview of the new song. She's also making us wonder if she's involved with Zion again. The 32-year-old singer first began dating the musician late last year, after the couple found a shared love of music. However, despite going strong for the best part of a year, the couple were said to have split at the end of summer, with a source close to Zion claiming that he was the one to pull the plug on their blossoming romance after a loved-up trip to the USA.
One thing we do know is that the two of them look perfectly friendly in this new TikTok, so have they found a spark again? Or does Zion feature on the track?
