Arsenal set to pile more misery on Ten Hag as they target transfer for £40m star who snubbed Man Utd | The Sun

ARSENAL are interested in signing RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko – who snubbed Manchester United last summer.

Erik ten Hag attempted to sign the Slovenian, 20, ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

But the forward ended up joining RB Leipzig, sealing the switch from RB Salzburg in 2022 before he spent one more season with the Austrian outfit.

Now Man Utd look to be in desperate need of a striker as they have lost eight of their opening 15 games in all competitions.

But according to The Mirror, Arsenal are the frontrunners to sign the £40million man.

Sesko has impressed already this season, scoring six goals in 13 games for Leipzig.

And that has attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham and AC Milan.

But it is Mikel Arteta's men who are now leading the race to secure his services.

And Arsenal have reportedly sent scouts to watch the attacker in action.

Meanwhile, Sesko, who also has nine goals in 24 games for Slovenia, explained in September why he chose Leipzig over interest from other clubs such as Man Utd.
