A FAMILY lawyer has hit back at critics who’ve slammed her brightly colored outfits.
Carlie Spencer (@carlieallisonspen) has a full-time job, runs a non-profit organization, and competes in beauty pageant competitions in her free time.
The 28-year-old fashionista, who recently competed at Miss North Carolina, has racked up over 50,000 followers on TikTok by sharing her lifestyle.
However, she revealed not everyone is a fan of her vibrant sense of style and she has experienced misconceptions about her professionalism.
She took to the social media platform wearing snakeskin cowboy boots, a leather mini skirt, and a black blouse as she responded to the unsolicited opinions.
“When old school attorneys think I should be embarrassed by how I dress… But my fun, colorful, and stylish outfits have never lost me a trial,” read the text over the video.
Carlie looked carefree as she danced confidently in the five-second clip.
“No, I didn’t wear this fit to court,” she captioned the post.
She added the hashtags #lawyeroutfits, #lawyertok, and #girlattorney.
The video racked up over 75,000 views with commenters praising Carlie’s trendsetting outfit choice.

She followed up the post with a series of videos showing the different outfits she wears to work.
She looked effortlessly elegant in a bright green dress and nude heels with her hair swept into a low bun in one video.
The lawyer donned a plum-colored jumpsuit with a tie waist and teamed it with the same nude heels for a classy second look.
In a video filmed in her office, Carlie wore a bold orange midi dress and a nude blazer as she danced happily.
She revealed that she keeps backup outfits in her office because some “judges are scary” and said she has been warned by other attorneys.
Commenters reassured the lawyer that she looked great and shouldn’t have to change her outfits.
One person wrote: “I see nothing wrong with this outfit. Maybe for court, a blazer but otherwise you look great!”
Another said: “All I see is an educated and fashionable woman.”
A third added: “It’s cute, still conservative. I thought you’d turn up in a Legally Blonde bubblegum pink suit.”
