Police detain man after allegedly grabbing child
A police officer has intervened heroically to rescue an 11-year-old girl from a suspected paedophile who could now face chemical castration.
The officer, who is being hailed as hero in Kazakhstan, reacted quickly to the cries for help from the girl, as shown by security camera footage.
The video shows the attacker attempting to drag the girl up the stairs of an apartment building.
Hearing the girl’s cries the police inspector successfully separated her from the suspect, and the terrified 11-year-old held onto the policeman’s hand for safety.
The officer recalled: “I noticed a man near the entrance who was forcibly holding a girl [aged 11 or 12], trying to take her to his flat. It was clear that the child was trying to escape.
